Not just About Me
Plinio Marcos Pinto is a Brazilian-born artist whose work bridges classical portraiture and pop-culture illustration. His fine art portrait work has been exhibited in galleries throughout the United States, while his vibrant pop-culture illustrations can be seen at comic shops and major conventions such as MegaCon.
Plinio earned his B.F.A. in Illustration from Ringling College of Art and Design and began his career creating editorial illustrations for national and international publications. After several years navigating the unpredictable freelance landscape, he shifted his focus toward portrait and figurative work—now considered his signature practice. More recently, Plinio has also rekindled his early college passion for photography—exploring it with new energy, intention, and purpose. Photography has become a parallel creative outlet for him, influencing his portrait work, sharpening his eye, and expanding the way he builds stories through image-making.
Based in Orlando, Florida, Plinio works professionally as a freelance illustrator and portrait painter. In addition to his studio practice, he serves as an Associate Course Director in the Fine Arts Department at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.
His clients include Playboy Enterprises, Loyola University Maryland Magazine, Cryptozoic Entertainment (licensed illustrator for AMC’s The Walking Dead, The Hobbit, and DC Comics), Financial Executive Magazine, and Jazziz Magazine. His work has been featured in venues such as The Society of Illustrators Gallery in New York, as well as group exhibitions in Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas, and St. Petersburg.
